The New Joint, the new bigger concert venue at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, opens next month.

Just in case you thought she was lip-synching...

On Sunday night at her Circus show in Tampa, Fla., Britney Spears was heard on a live mic saying, "My pussy was hanging out."

This came after Spears was lowered down in a metallic-looking gold costume after the song "I'm a Slave 4 U."

Perez Hilton, who kicked off her tour March 3 in New York with a video of him welcoming the star on her comeback, of course has photos.

The Circus tour continues nationally. To see Britney and her hoo-ha in Las Vegas, both will appear at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday, April 25 at 8 p.m. Tickets run $55 to $275 (the $275 rate is still available) and can be purchased at any of the MGM Grand box offices or Ticketmaster.com with all their fees.

At 83, Tony Curtis is one for books

Film legend Tony Curtis is coming out with his memoirs in October. Curtis, 83, let the cat out of the bag during a telephone conversation Wednesday.

The book, in the works for two years, is titled "American Prince: a Memoir" and will be released Oct. 14.

It is a collaboration with best-selling Peter Golenbock, one of the nation's best-known sports authors.

A book signing tour will include stops in London, Paris, San Francisco, New York and possibly Budapest, Hungary, where Curtis' parents grew up.

"I'm so happy. I'm 83 years old, and things are popping left and right," said Curtis, who has lived in Henderson since 2001.

The London book signing will take place at Harrods, the department store owned by Mohammed Al Fayad. His son, Dodi Al Fayed, who died with Princess Diana in a 1997 car crash in Paris, "was one of my best friends," Curtis said.

Curtis appeared in more than 100 films and was nominated for an Academy Award in 1959 for his portrayal of an escaped convict in "The Defiant Ones."

He said he will tie in some art shows with the book tour.

He hopes to make an appearance at the 30-year reunion of the ABC series "Vega$" on Oct. 4-5 at the Luxor. The 68-episode series, which featured the late Robert Urich as detective Dan Tanna, debuted April 25, 1978, and ended May 27, 1981.

For his role as casino boss Philip Roth, Curtis consulted with Burton Cohen, who was running the Desert Inn at the time.

"If I can make it, I'll be there," Curtis said.

He will be honored Aug. 27 by Turner Classic Movies with 24 hours of his movies.

New Shape of the Luxor in Vegas

Regular readers will remember that Sincitynow first reported a Luxor name change in mid-January when executives were mulling over the idea of simply calling the resort, The Pyramid. The Pyramid is a good, architecturally descriptive name and now the name-that-casino buzz is expanding. Rumors are circulating that the same executives are again deciding on a new name for the casino and have added 'Shapes' to the list of new names.

If execs finally decide upon the name Shapes, Sincitynow is told that buildings in the shape of a globe, a triangle and rectangle will be added to the current main structure!!!

Also in more Luxor news, the big Cirque du Soleil show announcement at the Luxor that was recently postponed has been rescheduled for this Thursday, Mar. 22. The announcement is expected to finally confirm months of reports officially naming Criss Angel as the show's star. The media alert for the press conference mentions that the 'featured artist of new production to make a special presentation.'

Van Halen cancels dates, set to return in Las Vegas

Whatever is ailing Eddie Van Halen has caused additional show cancellations for a total of 17 dates in the Midwest and East Coast that will need to be rescheduled.

Van Halen is currently suffering through a series of medical tests, though the band's promoter isn't revealing what types of tests they are.

The guitarist has recently gone through a hip replacement and tongue cancer, the latter of which was cleared in 2002.

With a stint in rehab last year for alcohol addiction, a relapse may have been the cause.

The tour, with David Lee Roth, Alex Van Halen, and Wolfgang Van Halen, is expected to resume with the planned Las Vegas date of April 19 at Mandalay Bay, part of the annual Tiger Jam charity event.

CELINE Dion has given her final performance in Las Vegas, bringing to a close her residency after five years, and bidding an emotional goodbye from a stage strewn with rose-petals.

The My Heart Will Go On singer wept several times during the concert and said the experience had a been a "wonderful adventure".

Celine Dion played her final Las Vegas show on Saturday.

Dion said: "It's hard to believe that we've come to an end. It was a wonderful adventure. It was an emotional night. It was a wonderful adventure."

The 39-year-old star, who has a six-year-old son René-Charles with husband René Angelil, revealed her family will always come before her music career.

She told the audience: "It's a pleasure to perform for you, but I'm extremely passionate to be a
mother.

"I had a life for the first time. I wanted to be more successful as a mother than as a singer."

Speaking of the bad reviews the show had received, the star admitted: "At one point, I felt like the Titanic was about to sink again.

But we believed and we went on with it."

After the Canadian pop star performed her final song, her husband and son joined her on stage as rose petals rained down from the ceiling.

Since Dion's show opened in March 2003, A New Day has grossed more than $400 million. Bette Midler will take Dion's residency at Caesars Palace. The Showgirl Must Go On opens at the hotel on February 20.

Dion is set to embark on a world tour in February 2008.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes attended Celine's penultimate show on Friday.

The couple, who gave the star a standing ovation at the end of her performance, later went backstage to meet the singer.

A source said: "Tom and Katie walked in before the show started and the crowd went crazy. Tom waved to the crowd and signed numerous autographs."

Cruise and Holmes, who spent two days in Las Vegas, also enjoyed a romantic dinner at the SW Steakhouse at the Wynn on Friday.

They ate crab claws, Kobe beef, French fries and diet soda and were very "loved up" according to onlookers.

One source said: "Tom and Katie were really friendly and said hello to every guest who approached them."
